Pantone, the official authority on color, has announced the Color of the Year for 2017. If you love spring shades and hues that are symbolic of renewal, you'll be happy to know that the color this year is Greenery. It's a yellow-green shade that "evokes the first days of spring."

This means that we'll be seeing lots of green in the fashion & beauty worlds. To get a head start on the makeup trends for this year, check out a few looks that will inspire you to "go green" in 2017!

Brighten Things Up

Pantone refers to Greenery as a "fresh and zesty" color, so a bright green eye shadow will definitely capture that description. Pair with a peachy lip color for a quintessential spring look that will brighten up your face.

Deep, Rich Hues

Even though Greenery is a vibrant shade, deeper hues still fall into the green color category. For a dramatic evening look, try a dark green with a rich plum lip.

Be Dramatic

You can add some drama to your makeup look by doing a gradient of green shadow, and applying a thin liquid liner across your upper lash line. Keep your lips simple and natural looking to offset the bold appearance of your eyes.

Topped With Tan

If you feel like a bright green is too much for you, blend in a tan shade above that minimizes the green. Go with a mocha colored lip to keep the look natural and consistent.

For a look that is fun and perfect for a night out, start with a copper shadow and sweep across the entire lid. Apply two different shades of green in the crease and blend. Add a pop of orange to your lips and you'll be ready for spring and a night on the town!

Pop of Pink

If you'd rather draw attention to your lips than your eyes, you can still do a green look, but make your pucker the focus. Stick to a medium green shade for your lids, and make those lips pop with a bright pink color. Both shades are perfect for spring and you'll look feminine and gorgeous!
